Does the gas detector need to be calibrated during operation?

Multiple gas detectors belong to safety detection equipment. To ensure the safety of users, they must be calibrated or calibrated before use. Currently, there are many types of gas detectors on the market, and the calibration methods are different. Therefore, before calibration, it is necessary to carefully read the instructions and calibration regulations, and adopt the correct method to calibrate the gas detector. For example, the Japanese new universe 302M needs to be connected to a PC with calibration software installed through a USB data cable to calibrate each gas separately. For the FIRSTCHECK+calibration of British ion science, ISLPC data transmission software, infrared link device, and data cable are required to set the concentration of the calibration gas, transmit the set data to the instrument and save it, and then calibrate the instrument. For safety reasons, gas detectors have a calibration date in various countries, some regulations require once a month, some require once every six months, and some require once a year.

We often encounter common issues in the maintenance of BW gas detectors. Some instruments have set calibration cycles, and when the instrument is used for more than the calibration cycle, it will alarm or display a fault. In this case, the instrument needs to be recalibrated. For example, BW's GasAlertMicroClip (also known as our common BW yellow meter MC2-4) will display a fault if it exceeds the measurement range or has negative drift. When the oxygen concentration is below 10 vol%, it may be flammable and display a fault. For gases that exceed the measurement range, the sensitivity of the gas may temporarily increase. It is necessary to wait for the instrument to recover for a certain period of time before calibrating or calibrating it; Gas detectors that display "-" when turned on are usually due to sensor failure or need to be recalibrated, such as X-am 2500; After turning on, a gas channel displays a fault, the sensor is not installed properly or the sensor is malfunctioning.
