How to calibrate a portable pH meter
The portable pH meter must be calibrated before use. Generally speaking, when the instrument is in continuous use, it should be calibrated once a day. ;
1. Press the set button to release the set MTC temperature value;
2. Press and hold the SET key until the current buffer group flashes, and use the up or down keys to select other groups. When the required buffer group is flashing, press the Read button to confirm the selection (generally select B4 as the default group);
3. Insert the electrode cleaned with distilled water into the buffer solution with pH=6.86;
4. Instrument automatic end point or manual end point;
5. Clean the electrode with distilled water, then insert it into the standard buffer solution of PH=4.00 (or PH=9.18) and press the Cal key. After the signal is stable, the meter will end automatically according to the pre-selected end point method or press Read to end manually;
6. The portable pH meter has been calibrated.
7. After calibration, the standard solution group should not be replaced arbitrarily.
The calibrated buffer solution should use a solution of PH=6.86 for the first time, and a buffer solution close to the pH value of the measured solution for the second time. If the measured solution is acidic, the buffer solution should be PH=4.00; if the measured solution is alkaline Then choose a buffer solution with pH=9.18.
