How to increase the lifespan of laser rangefinders

When we use a laser rangefinder for a long time, in order to have a long service life, its maintenance and precautions must be taken into account. Only by achieving the following can we ensure that our instruments and meters can be used for a longer period of time and in optimal condition.

Maintenance of laser rangefinder

1: Regularly check the appearance of the instrument to ensure timely inspection of surface dust, dirt, grease, mold, etc.

2: When cleaning eyepieces, objectives, or laser emission windows, a soft dry cloth should be used. It is strictly prohibited to scratch with hard objects to avoid damaging the optical performance.

3: This machine is a high-precision instrument that integrates optics, mechanics, and electronics. It should be handled with care during use and is strictly prohibited from squeezing or falling from a height to avoid damaging the instrument.

Precautions for laser rangefinder

The handheld laser rangefinder uses laser for distance measurement, and the pulse laser beam is a monochromatic light source with very concentrated energy. Therefore, when using it, do not aim your eyes at the emission port and do not use an aiming telescope to observe the reflection surface to avoid damaging people's eyes.

If everyone follows the operating specifications in the instrument manual for measurement, it is also important not to directly aim the instrument's emission port at the sun during field measurements to avoid burning the instrument's photosensitive components. The lifespan of its rangefinder can be extended by at least one to two years.

Characteristics of laser rangefinder

Laser rangefinder is an instrument that accurately measures the distance of a target using lasers. The laser rangefinder emits a very fine laser beam towards the target during operation, and the photoelectric element receives the reflected laser beam from the target. The timer measures the time from emission to reception of the laser beam and calculates the distance from the observer to the target.

Laser rangefinders are currently the most widely used rangefinders, which can be classified into handheld laser rangefinders (measuring distances of 0-300 meters) and telescope laser rangefinders (measuring distances of 500-3000 meters).
