Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN) Concentration DetectorHydrogen cyanide is mainly used in the electroplating industry (copper plating, gold plating, silver plating), mining industry (gold and silver extraction), smoking and rodent control in ship cabins and warehouses, manufacturing various resin monomers such as acrylic acid resin and methyl methacrylate resin, etc. In addition, it can also come into contact with this substance during the production process of cyanide.

Hydrogen cyanide is liquid under standard conditions. Hydrogen cyanide is easily dispersed uniformly in air and can burn in air. When the content of hydrogen cyanide in the air reaches 5.6% to 12.8%, it is explosive. Highly toxic and deadly, colorless and bitter, with an almond odor, boiling at 26 ° C (79 ° F) slightly above room temperature.

According to the Comprehensive Emission Standards for Air Pollutants, the maximum emission concentration of hydrogen cyanide is 1.9mg/m3, which is 1.79PPM. The maximum allowable concentration in the air is 0.3mg/m3, which is 0.27PPM. Inhalation of hydrogen cyanide can inhibit respiratory enzymes and cause intracellular asphyxia. The lethal dose is 1mg/kg (body weight), and inhaling high concentrations of hydrogen cyanide gas in a short period of time can immediately cause respiratory arrest and death.

Non sudden death can be clinically divided into four stages: prodromal stage with mucosal irritation, increased and deepened breathing, fatigue, and headache; Oral administration can cause numbness on the tip of the tongue and mouth. During the difficult breathing period, there may be difficulty breathing, elevated blood pressure, and bright red skin and mucous membranes. During the convulsion period, convulsions, coma, and respiratory failure may occur. During the paralysis period, the muscles of the whole body relax, breathing and heartbeat stop, and death occurs. May cause eye and skin burns, and absorption can lead to poisoning.

Long term exposure to small amounts of cyanide can lead to neurasthenia syndrome, eye and upper respiratory tract irritation. May cause rash.

Safety knowledge
1. Contact opportunities: It is mainly used in the electroplating industry (copper plating, gold plating, silver plating), mining industry (gold and silver extraction), smoking and rodent control in ship cabins and warehouses, manufacturing various resin monomers such as acrylic acid resin, methyl acrylic acid resin, etc. In addition, it can also come into contact with this substance during the production process of cyanide.

2. On site treatment: Immediately wrap 1-2 ampoules of isoamyl nitrite in a handkerchief and crush them. Apply them in front of the mouth and nose and inhale. At the same time, perform artificial respiration and pay attention to vital signs.

3. Selection of gas masks: Due to the high toxicity of hydrogen acid gas, caution must be exercised when choosing and wearing gas masks. GB2890-82 IL type filter canisters are commonly used in China. When using other types of filter canisters, it is important to carefully read the instructions and production dates. Generally, the effective filtering time is only about 50 minutes at a concentration of 3g/m3 cyanide gas; Before use, apply chloropicrin to test the effectiveness of the filter canister and whether the gas mask should be worn properly. If conducting large-scale hydrogen cyanide fumigation, it is recommended that a fumigation team have at least one self-contained breathing apparatus to prevent accidents.

Therefore, in order to maintain the safety of life and property; Protecting our common environment; When we discharge hydrogen cyanide gas, we need to detect the concentration of hydrogen cyanide gas to meet the national emission standards. At this time, we need to use a hydrogen cyanide HCN gas concentration detector.
