Maintaining the metallographic microscope
The metallographic microscope is a precision optical instrument, so it must be operated carefully and maintained carefully to ensure the normal use of the instrument.
1. The laboratory should have three protection conditions: shock-proof, moisture-proof, and dust-proof;
2. It is not suitable to be close to volatile, corrosive and other chemicals to avoid creating a corrosive environment;
3. The operator must fully understand the structural principles, performance characteristics and usage of the instrument and equipment, and strictly abide by the operating procedures;
4. Hands should be clean during operation, and the test surface of the sample should be rinsed with alcohol and dried;
5. When operating a metallographic microscope, handle the lens with care and do not touch the lens surface with your hands. When adjusting the focus, first gently turn the coarse adjustment to bring the objective lens and the inspection surface as close as possible, focus from the eyepiece, and then gently turn the fine adjustment until the image is clear. During adjustment, it is necessary to avoid collision between the objective lens and the specimen and damage to the lens;
6. Do not switch the objective lens when the center of the round hole of the stage gasket is far away from the center of the objective lens to avoid scratching the objective lens;
7. Do not adjust the brightness from high to low, which will affect the service life of the bulb and damage your eyesight;
8. When switching all functions, the movements should be gentle and in place;
9. Adjust the brightness to the minimum when shutting down;
10. Non-professionals should not adjust the lighting system (filament position lamp) to avoid affecting the image quality;
11. When the metallographic microscope is not in use, adjust the objective lens to the lowest state through the focusing mechanism;
12. After shutting down, do not cover the dust cover immediately. Wait until it cools down before covering it again. Pay attention to fire prevention;
13. Place optical components that are not frequently used in a drying dish;
14. Non-professionals should not try to clean the objective lens and other optical components. The eyepiece can be wiped with an absorbent cotton swab dipped in mixed liquid and shaken dry. Do not use other liquids to avoid damaging the eyepiece. Maintenance of metallographic microscope
