On coating thickness gauges, what do F, N and FN stand for?

Coating thickness gauges non-destructively measure the thickness of non-magnetic coatings (e.g. aluminium, chromium, copper, enamel, rubber, paint, etc.) on magnetic metal substrates (e.g. steel, iron, alloys and hard magnetic steels, etc.) as well as the thickness of non-conductive claddings (e.g. enamels, rubbers, paints, plastics, etc.) on non-magnetic metal substrates (e.g. copper, aluminium, zinc, tin, etc.). Then the coating thickness gauge in F, N and FN on behalf of what? Shenzhen source Hengtong Technology Co., Ltd. for a detailed introduction:

F on behalf of ferrous ferromagnetic substrate, F-type coating thickness gauge using electromagnetic induction principle, to measure steel, iron and other ferromagnetic metal substrate on the non-ferromagnetic coatings, plating, such as: paint, powder, plastics, rubber, synthetic materials, phosphating layer, chromium, zinc, lead, aluminium, tin, cadmium, porcelain, enamel, oxide layer.
N stands for Non-ferrous non-ferromagnetic substrate, N-type coating thickness gauges use the eddy current principle; to measure the eddy current sensor to measure the copper, aluminium, zinc, tin and other substrates on the enamel, rubber, paint, plastic layer and so on.
FN type of coating thickness gauge both electromagnetic induction principle, and the use of eddy current principle, is the F type and N type of two-in-one coating thickness gauge.

Brief description of the measuring principle of the thickness gauge
Thickness gauge is an instrument used to measure the thickness of an object, which is made using microwave and laser technology. It is classified into laser thickness gauge, X-ray thickness gauge, film thickness gauge etc. Thickness gauge test methods are: magnetic thickness measurement, radiometric thickness measurement, electrolytic thickness measurement, eddy current thickness measurement, ultrasonic thickness measurement.

Its measuring principle:
The device measures the distance from the mounting bracket to the surface of the object, and then calculates the thickness of the object based on the fixed distance of the bracket.

The laser beam forms a very small spot on the surface of the object to be measured, and the imaging objective lens images the spot onto the photosensitive surface of the photosensitive receiver, generating an electrical signal that detects the position of the spot on its sensitive surface. When the object under test moves, the spot on its surface relative to the position of the imaging objective changes, and accordingly the position of its image point in the photosensitive device should also change, and then can be calculated the actual distance of the object under test. Thickness gauge test methods are: magnetic thickness, radiometric thickness, electrolytic thickness, eddy current thickness, ultrasonic thickness.
