When purchasing a night vision device, make selections in the following order:
1. Image intensifier tube: It is of several generations. Be sure to confirm with the merchant when making a purchase. Because the packaging and instructions of night vision devices generally do not indicate the generation of the amplifier tube. Of course, if you want to buy a 2nd or 3rd generation night vision device, it is best to buy a night vision device with a clear label indicating which generation of amplifier it is, in order to avoid infringement of your rights. At present, the night vision devices on the market, such as RHO in Russia, are labeled on product packaging and machines with the generation of the image intensifier tube used.
2. Lens: Check the aperture and magnification of the lens. Without considering volume, of course, the larger the better. In the same case of an image intensifier tube, the principle is that the larger the aperture, the farther the observation distance, and the clearer the image.
3. Image enhancement technology: Night vision devices equipped with this technology generally have better and clearer image brightness under the same conditions.
4. Infrared emitter: The performance of this emitter directly affects the imaging quality.
5. Resolution: The resolution of the lens is very important, the higher the resolution, the clearer the displayed image.
As for the nominal observation distance and identification distance of night vision devices. Due to the lack of formal standards, opinions vary among different parties. Actually, it has no reference value. Generally speaking, the first generation has a distance of 100-250 meters, the second generation has a distance of 200-350 meters, and the third generation has a distance of 300-500 meters, and can see objects clearly. It also depends on the quality and size of the lens, image processing technology, infrared emitter, and resolution.
