Common problems with microscopes and how to solve them

The microscope bulb does not light up
1. Check if the power cord is loose and if the socket is functioning properly.

2. Check if the fuse is blown (usually located at the power interface of the device), and replace it if it is blown.

3. Replace the spare light bulb, be careful not to touch the bulb directly with your fingers during the replacement process.

Microscope unable to focus and image
1. Check if the focusing limit mechanism has not been adjusted properly, resulting in insufficient working distance.

2. Check if the sample is placed upside down. If the cover glass is facing down, the working distance is not enough at high magnification.

Clear imaging at low magnification, blurry imaging at high magnification
1. At high magnification, there are higher requirements for sample thickness and flatness.

2. Pay attention to whether there is oil dripping and whether the objective lens is clean when using a biological 100x lens.

3. When switching to a high magnification mirror, the aperture stop on the condenser lens is correspondingly enlarged.

The field of view appears bright and uneven

Check if the optical path is aligned before using the microscope.

The light bulb is on, but the eyepiece view is completely black
1. Check if the objective lens has turned into the optical path, if the field stop and aperture stop have been adjusted too small, and if the optical path is aligned.

2. Check if the eyepiece and video switch lever are in the video position.

The brightness of the field of view is dim
1. Are the field stop and aperture stop set too small.

2. Is the optical path adjusted properly (focusing lens, aperture, filament).

3. Have polarization and phase difference components been used.

Black border appears in the field of view of the eyepiece
1. Check if the field of view aperture is too small;

2. Is the optical path aligned (spotlight, aperture, filament);

3. Is the objective lens turntable in place;

4. Is the positioning between the eyepiece tube and the body accurate.

Synchronization issue, when using a camera for observation, the eyepiece appears clear, but the computer displays blurry images
1. Adjust the height of the interface or interface lens to achieve synchronization.

2. When the adjustment interface cannot be fully synchronized, try adjusting the refractive power of the eyepiece.
