How to Select a Suitable Infrared Thermometer?

① Accuracy: Accuracy varies among different instruments. Thermometers with an accuracy better than 1% are suitable for this application.

② Temperature Resolution: It refers to the minimum detectable temperature change of the instrument. Devices with a resolution of 0.1°C are preferred.

③ Optical Resolution: Also known as the distance coefficient, it is the ratio of measurement distance to the field diameter of the measured target. Instruments with a ratio of 20:1 or higher perform better.

④ Alarm Function: It is ideal for the instrument to be equipped with an alarm function for rapid troubleshooting.

⑤ Optical Lens: The optical lens is a key component of the instrument. Common types include Fresnel lenses (commonly known as plastic lenses) and optical glass lenses. Fresnel lenses tend to age easily, are hard to clean and deliver lower accuracy.

⑥ Response Time: Generally, the shorter the response time, the better the instrument performance.

⑦ Software Function: If equipped with software functions, the instrument can operate continuously and record measurement data.

The infrared thermometer receives thermal radiation from the human body. It is a fully passive instrument that does not emit any electromagnetic waves and causes no harm to the human body.

Therefore, when selecting an infrared thermometer, you must choose the one that fits your own application.
