How to Maintain a Clear Light Path for Microscopes
The optical path of Olympus microscope includes eyepiece, objective lens, upper or lower light source, and light box. A light path system composed of these several parts, if one of them has a problem, it will cause the entire system to malfunction. Below, I will briefly explain how to ensure the clarity of the Olympus microscope light path!
1: The surface lens of the eyepiece and objective lens is easily contaminated by dust, dirt, and oil. When the contrast and clarity decrease and fog occurs, it is necessary to carefully inspect the condition of the eyepiece and the lens in front of the objective lens with a magnifying glass.
2: Ensuring the optical performance of Olympus microscopes is crucial. When the microscope is not in use, it should be covered with the dust cover provided by the instrument. If there is dust and dirt on the optical surface and instrument, a permanent balloon should be blown to remove the dust or a soft brush should be used to remove the dirt before wiping the surface.
3: Optical surfaces should be cleaned with lint free cotton cloth, lens paper, or cotton swabs dampened with specialized lens cleaning solution. When cleaning, excessive solvents should be avoided. The lens wiping paper or cotton swab should be properly wetted with solvents, but should not penetrate into the objective lens due to the use of too much solvent, causing a decrease in the clarity of the objective lens and damage to the objective lens.
4: Low magnification objective lenses have a relatively large front group lens, which can be wiped with a cotton cloth or cotton swab wrapped around the fingers and wiped with ethanol. 40X and 100X need to be carefully inspected with a magnifying glass. In order to achieve high flatness, a front group lens with a small curvature radius concave surface is used in the high-power mirror. When wiping this group of lenses, a toothpick or cotton swab with a cotton ball is used for cleaning. Wipe the surface of the lens lightly. Do not exert excessive force or make scraping movements, and make sure to touch the concave surface of the lens in front of you. After cleaning, use a magnifying glass to check if the objective lens is damaged. If it is necessary to open the observation tube, be careful not to touch the exposed lens under the tube. Fingerprints on the surface of the lens will reduce the clarity of the image. The objective lens and eyepiece should be wiped clean. Remove this paragraph from Olympus
